What is a good running pace per km?
A comfortable jogging pace for a beginner is around 7:00–8:30 per km. Intermediate runners typically run easy runs at 5:30–6:30/km. Elite runners race marathons at under 3:00/km. The "right" pace is whatever you can sustain for the distance — there is no universal benchmark.
What pace do I need to run a sub-2 hour half marathon?
To finish a half marathon in under 2 hours you need to average 5:41 per km (or 9:09 per mile). Most training plans target a slightly faster pace of 5:35–5:38/km to give yourself a buffer.
What pace do I need for a sub-4 hour marathon?
A sub-4 hour marathon requires an average pace of 5:41 per km (9:09 per mile) — the same as a sub-2 hour half marathon. This is a popular goal for recreational marathon runners.
How do I convert min/km to min/mile?
Multiply your min/km pace by 1.609 to get min/mile. For example, 5:30/km × 1.609 = 8:51/mile. This calculator does the conversion automatically in the results.
